Lilly Pads on the Lake

Welcome

Welcome to the official website of the Friends of Lincoln State Park. Formed in June 2004, we are a non-profit organization of volunteers devoted to the support and preservation of Lincoln State Park and the Col. William Jones Home.

Lincoln State Park is located on east State Road 162 in Lincoln City, Indiana. It is located directly across from the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial and approximately five miles west of Holiday World & Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana. Both Lincoln State Park and the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial preserve the area that was home to Abraham Lincoln and his family from 1816 to 1830. Abraham Lincoln's most formative years from ages 7 to 21 were spent in this area of southern Indiana where Lincoln learned to read and split rails.

We invite you to take a moment to browse our site and learn more about our organization and Lincoln State Park. After seeing everything we do, we hope you will consider becoming a supporting member of the Friends of Lincoln State Park. If you've never been to Lincoln State Park, we hope you'll consider visiting soon.

Thanks for visiting our site and come back soon!

About Us

The Friends of Lincoln State Park is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization consisting of family and individual supporters and volunteers. We are a partnership joining people with our cultural and natural resources. We seek to provide funding and volunteer support to Lincoln State Park as it faces the challenge of stretched budgets due to fluctuating levels of state government funding.

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Friends of Lincoln State Park is to support appreciation, conservation, enhancement, understanding, and responsible use of the natural, cultural, and historic resources that are the foundation of Lincoln State Park by generating funds through memberships, grants, gifts, bequests, or other means and by providing avenues of volunteer service through activities, events, and special projects.
